Snow in Vegas and back to work

Yes, we went to Las Vegas and had some real English weather, it snowed on the Strip, luckily although they had to close the airport and cancel flights, it was a couple of days before we had to come home.
We had a great time, and Keith has put some photos onto a page on the web site.
Xmas has come and gone, so it seemed a good time to have some retail therapy, although I did manage some in Vegas, LOL.
After all the talk of the sales, I spent 4 hours in our town centre and hardly found anything to buy, very disappointing.
So is back to work for me now, and some new creations will be heading for the web site within the next few days.
May I take this chance of wishing you a very Happy New Year and bearst wishes for 2009, from myself and Keith

Seasonal Greetings

Early Seasonal Greetings to you, we are away from the computer from 5th Dec until just before Xmas, hence the early good wishes.
What an extremely busy year that is coming to an end, thank you for all your support and friendship.
At least I have managed to wrap up all my Xmas presents, slightly more organised than last year.
The last of the Xmas creations have been put onto the web site and have been adopted, so now it is a case of getting ready for a well deserved break with Grumps.
Thanks for all the lovely emails about Jake our grandson, he is doing fine.
Lastly, from myself and Grumps, ( Keith ), may I say a heartfelt thankyou for all you support over the past year, and wish you all a Beary Merry Xmas and a peaceful and Happy New Year for 2009.
Bearst wishes

special collection now on web site

I am very pleased to announce the new Special Collection on the web site, it really has been fun getting Sooty, Sweep and Soo ready for their appearance. I hope that friends overseas know who they are, i used to love them when they were on the TV here in the UK.
Thanks to everyone for their emails about Jake, he is doing fine, there is a special photo of him on his page on the web site with a gift from a friend who lives in Canada, than Brenda-May.
Keith has been pulling his hair out, well he would if he had any to pull out. LOL. our email company had a problem, but they now say they have fixed it. It is made worse because the problem is not in our hands, Keith and I both hate not being in regular contact, and it shows just how much we rely on modern communications.
Hope you like my new creations.
Bearst wishes

suffering in the heat

I like warm sunny days but the last two have been humid and unbearable, I have trouble stuffing my bears everything sticks to my fingers so I thought I would share a few things with you. am still busy making bears for the web site and kensington, and yesterday we heard that California had a bad earthquake, one of my collectors lives in Chino Hills, which was the epicentre of the quake, and we were quite worried about her but all appears well, thank goodness, and the best news was that a bear she had adopted arrived the day after the quake, so a happy ending to the story

bears, birds and fuchias

What a busy time of the year, adding new bears to the web site, making some creations in preparation for the London show I am exhibiting at in Sept, trying to keep the garden tidy and chasing squirrels from the garden.

The photo shows the view I now have from my conservatory, the fuchias are wonderful, so delicate, and yes the background on my web site is one of our flowers. Keith is well chuffed with the picture of the Peregrine Falcon he managed to take.

Must get back to work.

Keith is mad as march hare LOL

Thanks very much for all the great emails about the new creations and the way the web site looks now, they are much appreciated.
Just as most of you know, Keith is crackers, mad as a march hare, well the latest idea just confirms this.
We are looking for some plant containers to put some beautiful roses in, in the front garden, Keith has come up with the idea of either bidets, or toilet pans, is he potty or what. LOL
Any ideas on what I can do with him, will be gratefully received

great time of the year

All the time spent in the garden is now showing wonderful results, the rose above is just beautiful.
The new frog water feature is up and working, so long as the sun shines, will be interesting to see how long it takes the birds to get used to him, and then have a bath with him watching, LOL.
Keith still has eye problems, and so is restricting his time on the computer.
When they are better, no doubt he will be doing an updated garden page to bore you all. LOL
The new panda that went up onto the site today has just been adopted, thanks for all your interest, I just wish I could make things quicker.
Take care

back from holiday

Yes, the above picture is a trainer having a sleep with a lion, taken at the MGM Vegas Lion Habitat, we have just got back from a wonderful holiday in Vegas, rather warm first couple of days, 107 was top temperature, with high wind and low humidity, it was like being in a sauna with the hair dryer on full blast, we were silly to go out in it, to warm for both Keith and I.

Saw Cher, I loved her show, Barry Manilow, KA another amazing show from Cirque du Soleil,
and Jersey Boys, the best show of its kind we have ever seen, great story, great music and wonderfully produced, well worth seeing.

It is back to normal now, doing the washing , going shopping and getting back to making some more mawspaws creations, but Keith wondered if you can spot me amid the old men of Vegas.

Blackbirds and Blanche

Very disappointing morning, we have just seen that the blackbirds have given up on their nest, after sitting on the nest for 10 days the eggs have not hatched, so sad news.

Blanche has just gone onto the new look web site, if you have time to test the site out and email me with your thought, I would be very grateful.

new pandas, blackbird update

I have just added a couple of new pandas to my web site.

Mrs Blackbird is still sitting on her nest, with Mr Blackbird doing a great job protecting her and the eggs.

Found out this week what sex our grandchild will be, also the possible name of Martin & Leonas baby. Keith does not know the name so I have to keep that a secret, that will be hard work. LOL

Typo and Mrs Blackbird

Keith made a mistake on the price of Tara, he has now corrected it.
For the past couple of weeks we have been noticing our plant pot liners being decimated, we now know who is responsible, Mrs Blackbird.
I have just been out into our garden and only 3 metres from the house, Mrs Blackbird is sitting on a well hidden nest, so well constructed considering they only use their beaks.
We will have to wait now to see if we get any baby blackbirds, cant wait.

needed-Retail Therapy

What a nightmare of a week, started trying to work on 4 creations at one time, cut them all out, started work on the first one, then everything seemed to have come to a stop.
I will have to go back to my old routine of making one at a time.
However, found a solution.
When Keith is at work on Saturday, I will partake in some much needed Retail Therapy, can't wait.

From me to you panda chat

Hi, my name is mei-tou.
My mum just put my photo onto her web site yesterday, she spent a long time being very careful in creating me, she is a lovely lady, although she is still to find a supply of panda food for me.
My dad never stops eating, and is forever on the thing called a computer, playing with photos of my brothers and sisters.
My sister Beth says she is now available for adoption.
I had better go look for some bamboo as it is breakfast time here in England. If you would like to give me a lovely new home, please email, whatever that is, my mum or dad.
Panda hugs
Mei-tou

laughed til I cried, little naughty

Whilst we were taking pictures of my new creations this happened.
The floor in the conservatory is a little shiny, Keith only had socks on, when he started moving a chair, one leg started slipping in one direction, the other started going in the opposite way, doing the splitzzzzzz.
All of of sudden he did a Micheal Jackson impression, a loud high pitched yelp, jumping upright , his hand crabbed his crutch and he did a stock take, he happily reported everything present and correct, thank goodness for that.
I am sorry to say that I just burst out laughing and carried on for a few minutes, a real LOL.
Sorry no photos available LOL

do we all have a sweet tooth

Just been sent this photo, Justine was 33 on 3rd of the 3rd, she must have known team mawspaws have sweet teeth, has she seen all the photos of puddings and chocs on the web site.

Only one thing she did not reduce size of photo, so the pudding filled our computer screen, when are they going to invent, eat your screen.

We love our puddings, do you.

Crunchie is now available for adoption, as it is not now being held for the original collector.

Thank you
team mawspaws

spring has sprung

Working in the conservatory today was bliss, very warm and sunny, then a shock, when I went into the garden to have a close up of the bulbs that have bloomed, chilly willy as they say over here. Warmed up when we took the photos of the new Spring Bunny.
Just had a great laugh at a photo sent to us by the " 33 today " birthday girl.
Great feed back about the miniatures, thank you.
Latest news is that Milly has been adopted.
A couple of the others, Mandy and Crunchie are being held,
awaiting confirmation of being adopted.

don't ask about the spaghetti in the supermarket

Please do not ask about the spaghetti in the supermarket.

Spike is now moving to Michigan, USA.

We are having a chat about the next Prestige Collection bear being a draw for web update membears only.
I know some of you do not like that, but we want to give evryone a chance, hope you understand, will let you know what we decide.

Fred and Ginger, the pair of Goldfinches have returned to their feeder. Hopefully they will have some little fred and gingers later in the year.

Just booked up to see The Jersey Boys, if you have seen it, please let me know what it was like. The Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons show.

Did you work out how many individual pieces in a bear, all need marking out, cutting out, and each trimming. The answer is 23.
Do you think it is the same number for a panda.

here we go 1st entry

Here goes.

I have had a very busy week, last Sunday I went to a large bear fair in London, just looking and buying more supplies. It was great to see it so busy, lets hope it is the same in September when we will have a stand there.

I have been concentrating on another Prestige bear this week, Spike will be going onto the web site later today, Keith will be sending out a web site update email after he has completed the web pages. We took some photos of Spike yesterday before Keith went to his proper work, he is on lates this week.

Just to explain, team mawspaws, I make all my creations and Keith does all the computer work.

Just as a change from making a bigger bear, I have been cutting out some miniatures, funnily enough they take nearly as much time to make as a larger bear.

Would you know how many pieces need cutting out for a miniature, to give you time to work it out,I will tell you in the next blog.

Back to mundain tasks, just off food shopping now, so better go.

Bearst wishes
